WHEN YOU NEED TO TELL PEOPLE WHERE TO GO

Wayfinding is how people find their way.

In olden days, there was no need for Wayfinding signage. Walk through a market and you progress from fruit to vegetables, to cheese, to fish, to meat, to grains, to clothing, etc. It was easy to navigate! Modern architecture is complex, and therefore more confusing to visitors.

While this helps sign makers to sell more signs, it does little for the visual environment, and offers scant help to visitors. A good Wayfinding solution will have as few signs as possible, and these will have information reduced to its essence.
