Katz's goes video!

Our very first installation of a full colour digital video display is a 46x112 pixel unit fitted into an existing pylon sign that we built for Katz's Deli, 3300 Dufferin Street, twenty years ago. We remodeled the original sign removing the 'readograph' portion and installed a full colour LED display. The double-sided video board supplied by Daktronics Inc. of Brookings, South Dakota is capable of reproducing 68 billion colours. With 20mm pitch, it provides excellent pixel resolution for pre-recorded video segments.

Jeff Dorfman of Katz's says, "Maintaining and repairing readograph faces just wasn't working for us. After several discussions with Sam, we investigated red or amber LED electronic displays. After driving around the city and looking at signs we quickly realized that this was also old technology. Now we are looking forward to using the capabilities of the new colour video display".
